About Kennebec Valley Farm

Nestled in the heart of Kennebec Valley, on scenic highway 201, lies a sleepy little farm whose roots date back to the 1820s. During its hayday, it shared its landscape with many small farms. The remnants of those days can still be seen as you drive the winding roads of rural Maine.

Here at Kennebec Valley Farm, we are thrilled to be reviving a small piece of Maine’s rich history in farming using Organic regenerative practices. Our journey does not stop at just growing vegetables. Our plans include research in Geothermal, Mycology, and sustainable agricultural practices.

Jennifer shares her vision for food sustainability, community, education, and healthy living.  Her mission to build and create a diverse, balanced ecosystem that supports the soil, people, and animals, will continue for generations to come.

“I’ve never really liked vegetables, but I’ve realized I’ve never had fresh organically grown vegetables. My box of veggies from Kennebec Valley farm was amazing! Carrots that were sweet and juicy, broccoli a color of green I’ve never seen before, tomatoes that melt in your mouth. I can’t wait for this summer to get more!” — Josh S., Embden, ME

Meet Our Farmers

Jennifer’s Story

My love for farming started as a young child growing up in Hawaii where I was fortunate to run free, eat off the land, caring for chickens, goats and rabbits on my family's farm. After living in Hawaii, I moved to a farm in the Blue Mountains in Washington State.

At the young age of twelve, I knew that farming was in my blood.  It was a drive to work with the land, the animals, to grow foods that help to nourish.  I have spent my life incorporating farming into my parenting, my teaching as a Waldorf educator. By instilling a love and reverence for our food, animals and soils into the young children in my care. I hope to inspire young farmers to grow sustainably for years to come.

I have spent many years with my own children living and working on Organic and Biodynamic farms on both the West and East Coasts.  I bring knowledge and love for organic/biodynamic practices to our farm.

Sophia

Jennifer’s daughter Sophia helps run our farm store, oversees animal care and is an essential part of our farm. Growing up on farms, Sophia’s abilities to take on any task is truly a gift!
